Experience

01 May 2026 — Aug 2026 Enterprise Co-op · Waterloo · Velocity

Founder & Engineer

Insighta

  • Engineered a real-time semantic clustering engine using max-member cosine similarity with threshold tuning (0.80 → 0.92) to eliminate centroid drift, automatically triggering alerts when 5+ students hit similar course concepts.
  • Built a 966-line load-testing harness simulating staggered joins, traffic bursts, churn, and adversarial injections, proving platform stability for 138 concurrent users across 611 streamed AI responses.
  • Architected an asynchronous streaming event pipeline where student POST requests trigger Postgres webhooks to Deno Edge Functions, embedding and clustering queries in real time for live analytics.
  • Conducted 30+ professor interviews to validate demand, securing a Fall 2026 classroom pilot and earning $15,000 in awards from the Overbeeke Family Entrepreneurship Excellence Award and Velocity Cornerstone Pivot Award.
02 Jun 2026 — Sep 2026 Online tutoring company

Software Engineer

1ON1EDU

  • Built two production systems for a live tutoring company: a multi-role operations platform managing 13,110 scheduled lessons for 518 users across six roles, and a self-guided math curriculum isolated in a 34-table Postgres schema.
  • Designed an 8-gate validation suite with an independent first-principles verifier across 84K lines of curriculum, catching 50 duplicate templates and 72 dead parameters.
  • Replaced static questions with 3,429 parameterized Math.js templates, generating unique numeric variants and dynamically redrawing diagrams through a registry of 28 custom SVG renderers.
  • Shipped 11 LLM-backed features, including streaming Socratic tutors, homework review, and report generation, guarded by a 7-stage deterministic validation cascade so AI never solely determines a student pass.
03 Dec 2025 — Mar 2026 Velocity-backed · AI & drone

Geospatial Full Stack Developer

Link Horizon Inc.

  • Built an interactive web application for construction site mapping that displays orthomosaic imagery and elevation data using a modern frontend and a tile-based geospatial backend.
  • Designed and implemented layer controls and a sidebar UI so users can toggle orthomosaic and elevation layers, adjust opacity and elevation ranges, and manage site and scan selection.
  • Integrated a third-party satellite base layer and a tile server to provide geographic context and reliable rendering of large geospatial datasets in the browser.
  • Documented setup, troubleshooting and feature behaviour in an organised docs structure to support onboarding and long-term maintenance.
04 Nov 2025 — Present Beijing

Backend Software Engineer

Beijing Guomeng Tech Co.

  • Engineered backend crawling infrastructure to ingest Chinese financial news at scale using Python-based batch pipelines.
  • Designed subject-page driven crawlers to reliably collect, parse and store structured articles into a MySQL database.
  • Implemented robust logging, date-based filtering and batch processing to support downstream review and publishing workflows.
  • Collaborated with a startup development team to evolve the data pipeline architecture for long-term scalability and content quality control.

Projects

Infinite Monkeys

Infinite Monkeys

Jun 2025 – Jul 2025 · Multi-tenant AI writing SaaS

  • Supabase
  • Postgres
  • Deno Edge
  • Stripe
  • ONNX
  • ProseMirror
  • Solo-shipped a subscription-billed, multi-tenant AI writing SaaS to paying users — auth, tenant isolation, Stripe, LLM routing and ML inference across three runtimes and four platforms.
  • Replatformed a Prisma/MySQL monolith onto Supabase Postgres and Deno Edge, cutting the legacy API to 85 lines — only the ONNX inference Deno's sandbox can't host.
  • Modelled inline AI suggestions as their own ProseMirror node, computing insert positions and rejoining split paragraphs so nothing reaches the document without an explicit accept.
WhispyFlow — how to use
02

Local Dictation

Nov 2025 – Dec 2025 · On-device Chrome extension

  • TypeScript
  • Chrome MV3
  • ONNX
  • Whisper
  • Kokoro-82M
  • Ran Whisper and Kokoro-82M entirely on-device across four isolated browser contexts, coordinated through a 32-message typed protocol to work around MV3 service-worker and audio-context limitations.
  • Built cross-application text insertion fallbacks for Google Docs, React-controlled inputs, and Drive PDFs using synthesized paste events, native prototype setters, and selection-aware clipboard handling.
Finance News Crawler
03

Finance News Crawler

  • Python 3
  • BeautifulSoup
  • MySQL
  • Requests
  • Engineered a Python pipeline (Playwright/BS4) to automate extraction from 20+ financial sources, normalizing data into a unified schema to increase ingestion throughput, consistency, and automated alerts.
  • Designed a two-stage MySQL schema separating raw data from draft to ensure system auditability and data integrity.
  • Implemented batch processing and article-clustering to eliminate data redundancy and optimize search rankings.
  • Architected an LLM-driven translation and rewrite pipeline for Chinese financial news, incorporating multi-stage validation checks and editorial guardrails to maintain high factual fidelity and mitigate model hallucinations.
